Commissary operating schedules have been modified in recent weeks due to severe weather, impacting our stores in areas such as Florida, Hawaii, North Carolina and even South Korea… and the hurricane season isn’t over yet! But now is not the time to panic; it’s the time to make sure that you are prepared in case disaster strikes! And it all starts with one simple question you need to ask yourself: Are you ready?
Stock Your Survival Kit – Start at Your Commissary
Disaster preparedness costs can add up if you don’t shop wisely! Luckily, Your Commissary is making it easier for the military community to prepare by offering reduced prices as part of its severe weather promotional package through October 31! During this time, a variety of products that you can use to help stock your survival kit will be on promotion. Although the specific products offered for this promotion may vary by store, you can expect to see the following types of products offered:

The Atlantic and Eastern Pacific hurricane seasons will be in effect until November 30, with peak activity for the Atlantic lasting through late October. A crisis can happen at any time, so it’s important to plan for an emergency before it happens, according to Tracie Russ, Director of Sales for the Defense Commissary Agency.
